Artist's Biography

A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, PA, Donna Quinn has exhibited her work extensively in her hometown and other U.S. cities such as Alexandria, VA, Washington DC, New York City and Miami. She has received several grants and was a recipient of the Fellowship Award in Painting from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts. Her work is held in numerous private collections.

Artist's Statement

Donna Quinn is a Philadelphia painter whose abstract work is inspired by themes central to relationships, space, and the passage of time. Exploring harmony and imbalance, her surfaces recall abandoned spaces with an impreciseness that often accompanies faded memories. She uses a materials-driven process to create layers of paint and mixed media on paper to evoke the passage of time, a sense of loss, and reverence for the past. The result is a highly textured and muted palette etched with organic lines, intuitive marks, and repetitive shapes.
